Check out my Arbor Mist Sparkling wine party basket, enter to win a $100 visa check card!

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Arbor Mist



Last month me and my husband were kids free for the evening, so we decided to stop and pick up some snacks and a bottle of wine. I immediately noticed Sparkling Wine by Arbor Mist. The thing you need to know about me is that I like my wine sparkly and I like my Arbor Mist, so without hesitation, I picked up a bottle of the raspberry sparkling.

"We're getting fancy tonight." I told my husband, as I put the bottle in the cart.

I was expecting it to be over the top sweet, but to my surprise, it wasn't. Just a hint of raspberry flavor. I really enjoyed it-- crisp, bubbly and not overly sweet or fruity. (I bet you're glad I'm not a Professional Reviewer of Wine after reading that, right? I TRIED!)

It's definitely something I wouldn't hesitate to share with guests in my home.

Which is why I was happy to be a part of this BlogHer review. It's a product I've tried, a product I like and one I think you'll like too.

I was asked to put together a party themed basket using Arbor Mist Sparkle wine.

I have created what I believe to be an awesome Party in a Basket.

You know how crazy life can get around the holidays, yes? The stress of planning meals, cooking meals, cleaning the house before the family comes over. Decorating, buying gifts, creating holiday cards. It can be overwhelming.

I can't think of a better way to get away from it all then to have a Girl's Night In!

We'd open a chilled bottle of Arbor Mist Sparkling. There would be plenty of snacks. Cheese, salami, crackers, olives STUFFED WITH FETA CHEESE. And of course, chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate. There would be music playing in the background while we eat, sip our Arbor Mist Sparkle wine and gossip. After we we're stuffed from the drinks and snacks, we could play a game or watch a couple of Chick Flicks. Because, seriously, no Girls Night In is complete without a little Patrick Swayze.

    To finish off the basket, I would add a nice, healthy (heh) sorbet--peach or lemon or strawberry (or CHAMPAGNE SORBET! Oh yes!)...served in a martini glass, with a splash of arbor mist sparkling wine over it. It'll make Swayze just a little more magical...

    A pedicure kit seems like the right answer but I'm not sure I should but cutting and filing while enjoying drinks so maybe pretty lip gloss to try on - less dangerous. I saw some birthdays posted...do we really need to prove age? Cuz I'm almost old enough to drink times 2.

    Ooh, the blanket idea made me go "mmm" because I also love a great new blanket. But my addition would be fresh fruit to go with the chocolate! (Also "mmm!") aaaand my birthday is Monday (12/7/82) so I'd really like one of those baskets right about now! :)

    I would add the Girls Night Box of Questions. They are fun anyways, but I'm sure adding some sparkling wine to the mix would make it all the more interesting and give you those really satisfying giggles that make your stomach hurt the day after!

    I would add a tent. Not a huge one, but just big enough that we could have a hilarious time trying to set it up to watch movies in after drinking too much wine. Because tents (and forts, and the like) are even MORE fun when you're a grown-up.

    I'd add some angel food cake (not pound cake though I prefer it) strawberries, raspberries, dried mango for dipping in some chocolate fondue! Also, Cocoa Roast almonds, which are tasty...

    Also, you need more salty: Trader Joe's thin little round sesame crackers are awe.some.

    So people often give me crap about this, but Arbor Mist really is the only wine I like. Some people don't really count it as wine. That's ok by me!

    I think I would add Apples To Apples to the basket. It's a great game to play on girls night.

    I'd add nail polish in a fun shade. Why not go totally slumber party and do each other's nails while gossiping? And checking out your drunken manicure the next morning is half the fun! Love the magazine idea, too.

    Because I'm really visual, and also kind of clumsy (and since *theoretically* the basket could at some point be in the hands of someone who is perhaps a little...tipsy...), I'd add some crunched up tissue paper around the inside edge of the basket. Maybe a nice bright lime green so it would complement the cover of that (what is that, the DVD of chick flicks?) thingamabobber and really "pop!"
