My Son Reviews Tony Hawk "Ride."

(Last month Activision treated myself and my boys to a Tony Hawk Weekend. We got to spend the day with Tony Hawk on Friday, spend the night in the beautiful La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad on Friday and Saturday evening. Then, on Sunday we were able to attend Tony Hawk's charity event, Stand up for Skateparks. It was an incredible weekend that was not only exciting and fun, but extremely eye opening and informative. What Tony Hawk is doing for the children is to be applauded. I will write my own take on things, but my son asked if he could post his first. We were not paid for this review, but we were given the game for free as well as a gift card to buy snacks for preview party.)

Last month I was lucky to meet Tony Hawk. We got to watch him skate with some friends of his and we had dinner with him on the half pipe. I have to say, he was an all around cool guy. He was humorous. It was so cool when he demonstrated his new game for us!

Tony Hawk playing his video game. Again... awesome!

Tony Hawk

This weekend we got an advanced copy of the game. We had a party for friends to try it.

Now I would like to give you my review of the game.

Tony Hawk has done it again! His new game Tony Hawk Ride is the game that brings you closest to skateboarding. Young or old, balanced or not, all you need is the ability to stand and move a little. This game is so realistic you'll think you're actually skating. There was only one con with the game- You have to unlock the levels on each ride mode which can be hard and a little frustrating. But this game is 100 percent fun! Play and you will want to play it over and over. This is a must have game and sure to be loved.

  3. Great review. What do you mean by having to "unlock the level on each ride mode?" Does this mean you have to achieve a certain level before you can move on to the more difficult stuff?

How did your mother do on the virtual skateboard? What level is she?

  26. You are lucky that your Mom does a blog so you got to meet Tony Hawk! I'll bet not that many kids have blogs...who knows what goodies could come your way if you did one regularly yourself...also you would probably have a lot of kids reading your blogs because you would be saying things that other kids think about too, but don't realize others are thinking about similar things.

I really like what you posted and am intersted in purchasing one for Christmas for my kids, but don't know that much about games. Thanks for the great review :)

  45. You have done such a fantastic job at allowing all of us to FEEL what it would be like to play that new skateboarding game.. which is a sign of a very TALENTED young writer. I am sure though.. that I would indeed fall FLAT ON MY FACE. That would be p-r-e-t-t-y funny to watch huh? Maybe since you have convinced me of the great FUN of this new game I will buy it for my 12 year old and take a picture so you can laugh at me too. Very well well done! Keep posting!
